Smart Target and Action Plan

Smarter targets and action plan for personal development

During the expedition I found one particular area that I highlighted for improvement this was map reading during the walk on the second day going to Chatsworth if found in particularly difficult to orientate my surroundings and correspond this to the map and as a result of this we overshot out second check point by about 150 meters which added extra time onto our walk.
This became increasingly difficult when we entered a wooded area after passing the nine ladies.
Matt had to intervene at this stage and demonstrate to us how important it is to look at distinguishing features such as ruined buildings or roads anything that can provide you with some indication where you are on the map.

How I am going to improve this
I am going to improve this by going out walking into the country side and walking practice routes and testing myself. I can also join a orienteering club which will be a good chance to combine phizz and map work.

When I want to achieve this by
I want to have achieved this target for when we start back in the second year in September 2011 this leaves me the next 12 weeks to home in and practice those map reading skills.
